The NLS (National Library Service) celebrated its 80th anniversary in 2011, with a readership of more than 850,000! I feel this no-charge program is a gift from God and the government of our democratic country.

This article is but a a grain of sand on the beach of unlimited possibilities for all who suffer disabilities. I have personally benefited and would like to refer to two recent Talking Books that I requested, that are now in my top 10 for this year:
1. CONVERSATIONS WITH MYSELF -NELSON MANDELA
2. GENEROUS JUSTICE: HOW GOD'S GRACE MAKES US JUST- TIMOTHY KELLER
*** As a convert to Catholicism from Judaism, I am inspired and grateful to Keller, an Evangelical Christian, who so skillfully and devotedly has taught me in depth with scholarly references to the social justice teachings of the Old and New Testaments.***
You are enlarging our horizons.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your gracious comment. I look forward to others response and would love to know their country of residence, as a new Blogger myself, I am blown away by the fact that my readers reside in at least six foreign countries.
DeleteI searched Generous Justice and found that the subject is one that I have been thinking about since I started reading, Lincoln's Battle with God, and seeing the movie Lincoln. Lincoln was a martyr for social justice. He was not always a believer and questioned God's existence during his younger years. But God's grace moved through him to work for God's justice. I always want to know what you are reading, Ruth, because I can trust that the titles are ones that I should also read to delve deeper. As for Nelson Mandela's book; I will definitely read it and am looking forward to it!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
